You've found the ideal place if you're looking for an Audible free trial. We can answer any questions you have about what's included, who's qualified, and how to get free Audible content.
Many of the features on the Audible are concealed under small type and promotional material, making it difficult to learn about them. Fortunately, the Audible free trial is always available, so if you're not ready to commit, you can still try it out at your leisure.
Audible also likes to prolong their free trial to promote the service every now and then, occasionally offering up to three months for free. There is currently no extension available, but because to recent modifications to the Audible subscription service, the free trial is really much better than before, with free unrestricted access to hundreds of titles in the new Audible Originals catalog.
With so many people obtaining cheap Amazon Kindles during the holiday sales, this is an excellent time to try out the new Audible service. We've also included some helpful hints on how to save money with Audible in general, as well as any caveats you should be aware of before signing up for the Audible free trial.
Is Audible completely free?
Even for Amazon Prime members, Audible is not free. It runs on a monthly subscription basis, with entry-level subscription tiers costing $7.95 / £7.99 per month. However, depending on which subscription tier you choose, some content is available for free. For example, if you sign up for the new Premium Plus plan, you'll get one free book token per month, as well as one month of free access to the core Audible Originals.
You can essentially acquire one free book on Audible using the monthly book token and the free trial, albeit you can only do this once because the free trial is only accessible once per account. Keep in mind that Audible will convert your free trial to a paid account once it expires, so make sure you cancel it before your 30-day Audible free trial ends.
What's included in the Audible free trial?
You'll get the following benefits with the normal 30-day free trial:
Trial of Audible Plus
- Access to the new Audible Originals repertoire is unlimited (over 11,000 titles)
- The Audible app is available for free (Windows, iOS, Android, Amazon devices)
- Trial of Audible Premium Plus
- When you begin the trial, you will receive one free audiobook token.
- Access to the new Audible Originals repertoire is unlimited (over 11,000 titles)
- The Audible app is available for free (Windows, iOS, Android, Amazon devices)
- Access to any of your titles while offline
Audible now offers free trials for both membership tiers, although as you can see, the higher-tiered Audible Premium Plus trial is the more generous of the two. With the Audible Premium Plus free trial, you'll get access to one audiobook in total - not much, but enough to give you a taste of what Audible is all about, as well as a nice little freebie that you can keep after your trial ends.
All free trial tiers will have unrestricted access to the Audible Originals library, which presently includes over 11,000 titles in a variety of categories, including fiction, nonfiction, and podcasts. This collection is also constantly growing, making the new Audible subscription options far more cost-effective than the previous free book token method.
If you choose the Premium Plus tier and maintain your membership after your free Audible trial has ended, you'll still get free audiobooks as part of your subscription. This tier is more equivalent to last year's regular Audible membership plans, with one free audiobook per month or up to 12 audiobooks for a single upfront purchase.
Who may take advantage of the Audible free trial?
The free trial is available to all new users; simply create an Audible account and you're good to go.
At the moment, the free trial is only available to new users. You will not be eligible for another free trial if you are already an Audible subscriber or have redeemed your free trial on your account.
Will my free trial with Audible be extended?
You won't be able to request an extension if you've already signed up for an Audible free trial; once you're in, you're in. You'll have to start paying a membership fee if you want to keep getting Audiobooks.
However, Audible does occasionally offer a three-month trial - rather than just 30 days - so if you're dead set on saving money and aren't in a hurry, you might wait for that offer.
The three-month Audible trial was last seen in April, when you could buy three months for just 99p. However, because this only lasted about a week, you must act quickly if you see it. These extended Audible trial offers only come around every few months, so don't expect another one for a while - but we're always on the lookout, so bookmark this page and come back for the latest Audible free trial news.
When my Audible trial period ends, what happens?
After your 30-day trial period has expired, Audible will convert your membership to a premium tier, so cancel your subscription before the trial period ends. If you opt out, you'll still have access to all of your old audiobook options, so it's a very opt-out friendly service if that's your preference.
Additionally, if you cancel your subscription within the first 30 days of signing up for the free trial, you will still be eligible for the free trial. If you're worried about forgetting to cancel, don't be. There's no risk in canceling right away.
If you decide to upgrade to a paying subscription, you'll be automatically enrolled in the trial tier's membership plan, which starts at $7.95 / £7.99 per month. There are occasionally special offers that will package several months for the price of one, but there are none planned at the moment.
